Im 13 turning 14 next Friday. I've had boobs for about a year and a half. My sister got her period when she was 11 and my mom got hers when she was 12 or 13. I've had discharge for about 6 or 7 months, but lately it has been heavier and before it was greenish now its clear and sticky. I do have tons of hair down there and in my armpits. Am I going to start my period soon? And please don't just say "soon", but if you could say "probably not for a couple more months" that would be great. Thanks

Everyone is different. You may start tomorrow, or you might not start for 6 months. There isn't anyway to predict it. Most girls have discharge for at least a year before they get their periods (and keep an eye on that discharge--green is not good, it is a sign of infection). It doesn't matter when you sister and mother started, you will get it when your body is ready.

I didn't get my period until I was 14 years old. I got it the summer before going into High School. I had body hair all over also and boobs by the time I was 10 or 11. But in some girls, menstruation doesn't come as fast. If you are going to turn 14 soon, I would say give it a couple more months and it should come. Discharge is completely normal, as long as it isnt discolored or has a foul odor. I had discharge for a couple of months, and even when i started it just looked like brown discharge, then later turned into actual bleeding. Dont get your hopes down or try to rush having your period. It may seem as though you are different and the outcast while all of your friends or sister have theirs, but trust me, after you get it, you will wish you were 13 again with no period. Having your period isn't fun and games lol ..

i say everyone is different when i got my cycle i got no warning before hand. I would go and talk to my family doctor because i don't think you should have green discharge. When you have brown discharge that is when you cycle is most likely to start and it may be like that the first time or two

Every woman is different, but after having boobs for one year is usually when it occurs. The fact that you're having so much discharge makes me think it will absolutely be very soon. Your first period may be brownish, rather than red.

each womam is different, there's no surefire way to tell. I would think since you've gone thru puberty already you should have had one by now. But some people don't have them if they are extemely thin and exercise to the extreme

Well honey, every women are difference. Your puberty still growing. When I get my cycle, I didn't get warning as that time. It will take time when you get it. Just be patient when time come.
