I dont want to buy it as I am learning for my college project so can anyone tell me how to write computer programmes or better yet specifically tell me how to write a speech recognition programme? Arigato Gozaimasu

They are incredibly complicated. You might want to take a trip to the bookstore, or better yet go here http://www.abebooks.com You're not going to find info on coding speech recognition online.

Speech recognition software has been about since mid-80's, and never performed well.
The current "best" is Dragon Naturally speaking.
The COMPILED software is a HUGE 1,045MB (1GB)!
(for ONE language...)
This represents an estimated 20GB of text code, or a little bit around 5,5 million pages of code, written by hundreds of programmers over many years...
That is what you are doing for your "college project".
Write the above in your report...
For the rest, I suggest you attack only one part of the project (a very small one), such as "a spoken language can be divided and classified as a series of 'PHONEMES' (phonetics) assembled to form 'sentences' ".
Just studying phonemes is going to take you a LONG, LONG time.
