That is insane and offensive. Companies reserve the right to lower their costs. It is their prerogative. Lawsuits such as this are going to create havoc in the consumer marketplace as if it is successful companies will be leery of drastic price reductions.
That is great news for business as they can maintain inflated prices however consumers will suffer.
That being said, I believe this woman should be smacked. Almost every product is released at a high price because demand is high.. When demand wains the price drops. It is basic marketing.

Lazy idiots who make a living by suing. My best friend is an Occupational Therapist who has worked for 25 yrs in the field. She is the best in town and goes above and beyond for her patients.
Now, the area is going to lose her because another person on welfare is suing her for some BS. Their group always settles out of court because they don't have the time to deal with these idiots. She's tired of working and caring so much just to have an occasional lawsuit. Happens to all her coworkers.
I think there's a network of these low-income slimeballs who tell each other what to do and how to make money with frivilous lawsuits.
We need tougher laws for these things.

That is so retarded! Can i sue because the price of my car is cheaper now? Geez prices go down on things all the time. It is her dumb fault she jumped on the opportunity to buy the phone when it was first released for a more expensive price and not wait for the sales which is what a lot of people do and people expect these sales from companies. Everyone knows when a product is first released it is the most expensive and then the price eventually drops.

The funny part is she is suing for 1M because she claims "the company violated price discrimination laws", but apparently she thinks she should be the only one to benefit from the lawsuit.

It's also like suing a movie production company when they put the movie out on video (after you went to see it at the theatre).
It's a well known fact that when you buy something RIGHT when it comes out, it's going to decrease in price. For this woman to SUE them for dropping the price is ridiculous, but what's even more ridiculous is the fact that she'll probably get something out of it.

She may or may not have a case. Rebates were offered from the company. It was not stated if she took advantage of it. I agree that frivolous lawsuits are now the norm. The woman mentioned in a previous answer who crashed the Winnabago while in cruise control and making a sandwich, got a new motorhome and over $1 million in damages. Winnabago had to change the owners manual to let people know it shouldn't be done. DUH.

The people who wait in line to buy the newest technology the day it comes out know full and well that if they waited even a few months it would go down in price significantly.
This is reality: new technology is VERY expensive because people WILL pay the higher price because they just "have to have it". (Personally - I would never pay that kind of money for a phone!)

i think it is i read a story about an american woman driving one of those big caravan things with cruise control she switched it on then got up and made herself a cuppa!!!! the caravan thing crashed n she went after the manufaturers lol things do eventually get cheaper people should just deal with it thats why we get cheap things in sales!!!!!

lawsuits became ridiculous years ago, people suing stores because a kid made them fall...their own kid. suing because you spill coffee on yourself... coffee is hot, it's supposed to be hot!
people are greedy and morons and that combination is going to be the ruin of america.
