"Only a complete buffoon would know that he was only talking about Jesse Macbeth."
dixiedog - i agree with that statement...but that isnt what you meant to say is it? Rush said "phoney soldierS", as in plural. he was speaking generically, he and his caller mike were not yet discussing any particular person. later when rush re-aired the clip to make it support his claims it had been EDITED. he's busted. and so are you.

"CALLER 2 (Mike): ...What's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media.
LIMBAUGH: The phony soldiers.
CALLER 2: The phony soldiers. If you talk to a real soldier, they are proud to serve. They want to be over in Iraq. They understand their sacrifice, and they're willing to sacrifice for their country."

i even used your beloved fox news for the link. it will not serve anyone’s credibility to make themselves appear so dense as to support Rush in the face of the fact and context in which he made his remarks. it just makes you look like neocon lemmings...right brian?

if all you are going to do is leave an unsupported opinion without any evidence by disregarding what he actually said PNAC, then whats the point?

Because Rush-cons are hypocrites. And to those defending him saying he referred to 'one' person, he said PLURAL... phony SOLDIERS. He pinned that remark to any service member wanting our troops to pull out. Out of context? Could be, but so was the betrayus ad since they put a ? at the end of it. That's not an insult, it's just asking a pun question. Big deal.

Because Rush's words were twisted and the controversy fabricated. Anyone who doesn's see that is either willfully ignorant of the facts or unable to comprehend simple English.
I find it appalling (but not surprising) that the left would take a conversation about people who falsely claim to have been Iraq veterans and make the most disgusting, false charges against them, and trash the person calling these PHONY VETERANS out, rather than the imposters themselves.
And I have long suspected that people have been posting and calling in various places, falsely claiming to be veterans and trashing the real soldiers. So condemn me too!
I am not a huge Rush fan, but this slander is outrageous.
And the actions of the left in trashing Petraeus and Limbaugh has a common theme: denigrating anyone with a positive view or our military, or who defends it against attack.
Rush doesn't need my help, but I think I will subscribe to whatever he has out there, just to make a point.
Mark my words: I will NOT let the left do what it is trying to do to my country!!!

I'm not religious, but I do have heavy sociological / anthropological background. If you feel the need to "fear" your God, then it's because you feel guilty for something, or you want to feel victimized. Most folks don't fear their God. They love their God. God is like the ultimate leader. As Machiavelli said, a good leader must be both loved and feared. If he is just loved, then people will still do what they want against his wishes at times. If he is just feared, then they won't love their own lives, only doing what he wants out of fear of ramifications. If they love and fear him, then they will do what he wants out of love and respect first, and out of fear second. Let me try to use a different analogy for God... God, in most peoples' eyes, is like a good parent. A good parent uses 2 parts love and 1 part discipline to ensure people lead a good life. 1 part love is unconditional. God loves you unconditionally, because you are his creation. (Just as a parent loves their child unconditionally). 1 part love is for positive reinforcement. God shows you love to reward your good behavior. This is what most folks call "blessings", "miracles", etc. Parents do the same with them children; give them hugs when they succeed. 1 part discipline is used for negative reinforcement. God punishes people when they've been bad. Parents do the same to children. Now, most people will follow a Godly life simply because they respect and love God due to 1 part unconditional love, and 1 part positive reinforcement. If that doesn't work then they fear the 1 part discipline. However, what's "blessing" and "punishment" from God is subjective. Different religions, and even individuals, may see something as a blessing while others see it as a curse. Everyone can see whatever they want into something. When a mother hugs a child, it's pretty tangible that it's a hug. But, when a person finds $5 on the street is that a blessing? What if it just enables them to do something bad? I think the better way to look at God is that he gives people chances. The $5 is an opportunity. How the person chooses to use that opportunity dictates whether it's a "blessing" or "curse".

See my complete answer in "Shouldn't you be Outraged too?"
You can see the entire picture there.
Because it is a lie!!
I will defend Rush for calling Jesse a "phony soldier," yes!!! Jesse McBeth got booted out of boot cap after 44 days claiming to be a veteran with a purple heart from Iraq, and this propaganda was broadcast all over Iraq and the middle east, about the supposed atrocities of American troops against the Iraqi people.
Get the whole story!

Because both are games. Neither party is making any progress--the Republicans keep losing the war in Iraq, and the Democrats are unable to end it--so they both score political points by attacking fringe groups on left and right (and MoveOn.org and Rush are both fringe elements) rather than discuss their own grotesque failures.

Some individuals have pretended to be soldiers in combat that have never been there & also lied about what they "SAW". When Rush condemns them he is being honest. Are you attempting to imply the General wasn't? Obviously MoveOn's was.

Read the transcript of what Rush said. Only a complete buffoon would know that he was only talking about Jesse Macbeth. Moveon smeared a great American soldier. Rush trashed an idiot who lied about being a soldier...

I have only heard clips but it seems clear to me, and I would think any reasonable person, that he wasn't talking about the entire military but a specific group of, yes, phony soldiers. It's amazing to me that saps like Harry Reid buy into this nonsensical garbage and the lemmings on left just fall into place..........
Thanks for the transcript. Reading it only reinforces my belief he was talking about specific people and not the military at large. Perhaps you should re-read it..........
