No , dont ever change for other people's convenience . Mostly this is thrown at you when they cant even understand the kind of questions they ask becoz they cant think that way about any given situations . Having said that are u posing as a psuedo-intellectual? Then they would be able to see through you n perhaps thats why are suggesting this. U need to introspect the person's motive - why he told you this , whats behind it ? Theres no harm is having a sense of humor and being able to laugh at oneself once in a way by the way.

But I'd suggest not asking people to star you or anything needy like that.
It's like when people ask you to post on their comments or pictures on myspace. Seems like they're looking for too much attention, and now THAT'S annoying.
