Don't ask them, just go out to the meter and turn the valve off

You have natural gas service?? We live in MS and are with Atmos Energy. We are on what is called Seasonal Billing where they bill us just during the fall/winter months when we need our gas for heat. They stop sending a bill after the May bill and begin again I think we'll get a bill this month for sept. even though we didn't use it then either...lol. But call and ask about seasonal billing. Most natural gas companies offer this. Good luck!

You are paying to have the service available and for maitenance of equipment including the pipes down the road and having a service person available. Plus I think the turn back on fee would eat up any savings.

Probably not, but it can't hurt to ask.
"Delivery" includes having the meter and piping there ready to use and maintaining your account, etc. The amount you say seems a bit high - ours is more like $10 fixed charges.

You want to keep it on, to keep the rust building up and the moister from building up in the units
