Gee, I'm just gonna ramble on this one and maybe come up with something feasible. I've never really questioned my God but accepted on faith. But I've also seen the proof of dinosaurs existing at one time. My brother even has some fossilized dinosaur poop.
I know that a thousand years is like the blink of an eye to God. So, he made the earth in 6 days. How long was a day then. Who's to say we were his first earthly creations. He may have created others like a trial run and when he saw they would not work out, poof, they were gone in an ice age.
As for man evolving from apes? I don't think so. If this were true, why do we still have apes? Adam and Eve may not have looked as we do today and we all evolved from them. But they weren't apes. Scientists are looking for a 'missing link'. They haven't found it because there is no biological link between man and ape.
These are just my musings on the subject. Now let the thumb downs begin.

The religious world can't relent now. They are on the face of collapse and another blow to the faith could send millions streaming away. Luckily hard times always flush the chumps and the church has seen some improvement lately. If religion starts to allow small things in it's exclusive mentality then it's only a matter of time before it fades away, like polytheism has in the western world. Religion must stand firm on their faith and beliefs for it is the only thing they have left since science and logic have clouded it's message with doubt. There is a great deal of money and power at stake here. More often than not the younger generation is leaving the fold and the average age of the church going group keeps going up with no youth in sight. It's a sad state of affairs for the church, but don't count on the church going out without a fight.

I believe in a hybrid of them both.... kinda blend them together... higher power at work... silly people telling stories that they can't get straight (probably because they were drunk or stoned when they heard it last ) and 'improve' upon each time they tell the story until it gets to the world being created in only 7 days (6 technically, I suppose.)
It's too hard for me to believe that the world started by accident, but I'm not hip to the all happened at once with no evolutionary 'do-overs' each.

Well, I would just like to say that not all Christians believe what those nuts believe, so if you want to believe in the Judeo-Christian God, then don't let the fringe element stop you.
By the way, I'm not even a Christian. I'm a Deist.

Both, man was created then he evolved there is no doubt that everything evolves, but until they can tell me what caused the big bang I have to lean to the side of creation.

I think for most people it's kind of a mix of both.
Creation + Evolution = Polution.
