Both. You can choose to go do something horrible or something wonderful today. There are definite consequences to your actions. There is also some supernatural power controlling the universe keeping everything in harmony. We are SO SO SO small in this vast universe that we can't control much at all except for our own little actions here and there.

There is NO SUCH THING as unavoidable fate.
If there were that would indicate that the future is already written and some omnipotent force has already decided everything. IT would also reason that the future exists in some fashion and, theoretically, it would be possible to see it, travel to it or predict it.
Fate is a myth perpetrated by tangible forces in the world which want people to believe that there are larger, intangible forces at work in order to keep the masses in line: "Your fate is to be a poor slave in the rock quarry so don't think about doing anything else." If everyone believes that their miserable life is part of a larger plan then they won't complain or challenge the system that keeps them down.
Yes, that means government and religions are/have been corrupt.
The truth is that there is no pre-written future and we all have the ability to shape what happens. Ofcourse the actions of others affect our lives as well.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FATE!!!

You can choose any given course in life, at any random moment fate can intervene - whether it's predetermined or not, is a mystery to me - how for instance can a friend travel over the pacific ocean, on holiday, to be mowed down, walking on a footpath by an out of control car......and killed
Just live every day as if it's the last, it's the best you can do

Dear Lunar Sarah,
I aam an experienced Astrologer and so I can say that it is a combination of both. Fate give you chances and opportunities to live your life.. you make most of the choices. In some case fate does not give options , but thats just a few.
I hope this answeres your question. If you have anymore serious quiries then please feel free to mail me.

I think for the most part I believe in fate. I think your reasoning and choices do effect what's going to happen, but fate could cause you do reason and choose that way for things to happen. Yeah...I think I believe in fate..

I believe in fate in the macrocosmic sense, but I believe we all have choices in the microcosmic sense.
It's hard to explain, but I think of fate as a larger, all-encompassing force where choices are still possible within the realm of fate.
I hope that makes sense.

Great questions. I wonder about the same things. Keep in mind that God knows all. Some things we don't understand because God for whatever reason does not want us to know. I believe he put us here for a reason and he knows the outcome of our entire lives before we have made any choices. With God there is no time. His thinking is so much higher then ours that we could go crazy trying to figure it all out. Some things we just have to accept by faith. God will let us know things when we are ready or he needs us to. I know God is real, his word is real, and he is with us. I don't know why he allows certain things to happen or does not always heal us when we beg him to. God is God and his thoughts are not the same as ours. He does want us to ask and wonder. He wants us to pray, read his word, and seek him all the time. Keep seeking and you will find he says. He controls it all though. Keep on keeping on!

I think you choose your own fate, this is determined by the choices you make in life, i.e you can take one path or another. Having said that I believe our paths are mapped from birth.

I'd say TOTAL CHOICE.. it's God's gift of free will to man.. you see God is not bound by time and space.. He can see your past, present, and future in one set.. when you decide a thing or two..for the present time.. God can see the result of such decision in the future.. because He sees your three timelines in a single instance>> like this line >>>>>>> Past----Present----Future so its your decisions that play an important role in determining your future.. because everytime you tweak your present.. the future invariably swerves.. and its you that tweaks your present..
