I would get on the phone to your dr and ask him what to do. please do not trust people on here to give you the right information. Some people on here lie and like to think they know it all without regard to safety to a human or otherwise.

If your GI doctor isn't calling you back quickly, call an ob/gyn or another GI doctor for the answer. You do not want to do the wrong thing and mess up your health or your baby's. This early in the pregnancy, your baby is probably not being affected by the meds, but you obviously do not want to take the risk.
Better safe than sorry--call another doctor until you get an answer!!
Congrats on your postive test!! Good luck!!

Call your OB/Gyn. Usually you shouldn't take any meds but there are few exceptions. Tell him the name of the medicine and what its for and he will tell you if its okay or not and if there is an alternative. Also, if your G.I. doctor has one of those voicemails that says if its an emergency press ___ or dial ____. GO FOR IT! This is an emergency because you don't want to harm anything by not taking it but at the same time you don't know if it would harm the baby to take it. Good luck and congrats with the baby!

You should call the pharmacy or call the doctor back. And if those fail, you can always call an OB. I'm sure they wouldn't mind answering that question for you. Good luck
( By the way...you can always check out www.safefetus.com for a list of "safe" drugs to take during pregnancy)

I would call again or even call another doctor. Ask to speak to the nurse practitioner on duty as well. They will be able to give you some advice. Sorry I can not help I am unfamiliar with your condition or those meds. Good Luck...Oh and by the way...CONGRATS!!!

I called my pharmacist when my doc didn't call me back right away. They know what pregnant women can and can't take.
Give that a try for now. But be sure to follow up with the doc no matter what!

If your G.I. Dr. isn't calling you back then call your OBGYN and let them know you tested positive and ask them about your other med's. You need to call your OBGYN anyway to let them know you're pregnant so they can confirm.
Good luck!

If you get the nurse, explain the situation and say that you need to know now. Or else call your OB. They should be able to tell you. Congratulations and good luck!

Since your GI doctor is taking his time calling you back, you should try calling a pharmacist in the pharmacy that you get your meds. I would say it is okay if you keep taking them, but its best to be certain.

you should contact your OB ASAP so they will plan if they will stop your medicine for ulcerative colitis,, or if theres other alternative medicine that is not harmful to the baby.
You should consider first the health of the unborn child prior to anything else...
