Took a typing class in 7th grade for one semester.

I took 2 years of typing in high school.
Typing I & 2 and Typing 3 & 4.

When I 1st took typing it was my sophomore year in high school.
The next time I took a class was through a 6 week course and I learned how to type about 55-60 wpm.
If you want to learn at home I would suggest you purchase Mavis Beacon tutorial. You can find it at Best Buy. It's very good and will get you up to speed and help work on accuracy.

I bought a program so that I could teach myself. I got so tired of not knowing how to type because I am always on line and I keep an on line journal. Then I took a business skills training program where they had the same program.

Yes since middle school in 6th grade thats when I started to learn how to type. Im in college right now so I have been typing for years.

Oh the memories! 1965, high school typing class with Mrs. Tyler. We used old Remington standards (look kids, no chord!) and for two class periods during the semester we got a turn on the "new" electrics. The carbon paper, the erasers, the mostly girls in class.......... I can hear that lovely clatter now! peace

I learned how to type in the 7th grade. It lasted about two months, since computer class was on some sort of rotation.

I took a keyboarding class in high school for a semester and that helped a lot. Everything else I just got from practice. Most of my practice was in college. So many essays!

I taught myself how to type by playing on my computer. I tested out of a required type course in college with an A grade. I still had to pay for the credits, though. :-(
