You don't learn anything new if you only listen to one point of view.
If I tell you that your dreams don't have any supernatural significance, I'm not doing it to be impolite. I'm saying it because I believe that is the truth. That goes for any supernatural or paranormal.
I believe it would be disrepsectful to stay quiet. If I knew that something was not the truth, and I didn't say anything, I would be insulting your intelligence. It'd be like saying, "it's fine for me to know the truth, but you aren't smart enough to get it." So I take any oppurtunity to enlighten you, not to show my superiority, but to help you understand something that may be unclrear.
I understand this argument could be used *for* supernatural occurances or relgious belief, and I accept that. But I try to back up my claims as much as I can.
However, I do agree that some people are rude about it. That's not necessary not matter what side of the debate you represent.

I certainly understand what you are saying especially since I personally see it in the religion and spirituality section. If you don't believe in it that is fine but it doesn't mean you need to be disrespectful and belittling making your self look pathetically immature and stupid.
But when one answers that the dream means nothing that can be what they really think.
Personally I truly believe that dreams are our subconscious coming forth, or perhaps a bad meal or something that we saw and or witnesses that was disturbing. Which is why I don't allow my son to see a lot of the movies and programs that are out there.
But they do it to make themselves feel superior and better about themselves. Very pathetic but I think that is why.

In full agreement. Mind you it happens nearly every area not just here, also horrid are questions which refer to a persons eye shape or skin colour/nationality in a way obviously inciting people to answer in an equally obnoxious way. Why they do it - just because they want to - no self respect so can't show it to others.
A word to those blaming the young, if the questions and answers are printed here, that is encouraging them right so don't blame them set a good example by the way we adults are behaving and I firmly believe that the majority of nasty postings are from adults (adults!).

There's a fine line between debating an issue and being cynical.
Some people just come here to take out their frustrations, I think.

Sadly, Acai, there are a lot of junior and senior high school boys and girls on here, who lack the maturity to actually engage in intelligent conversation. Many of them are still stuck in the "playground" mode and can not see that there is a world beyond their own back yard.
Too many people simply parrot what they have been taught or what they have heard all of their lives without giving--or knowing HOW to give--any serious thought to the topics discussed on here.
Basically, Yahoo! Answers is full of immature little brats.

I would like to know why people take it all so seriously - I post in the Television Comedy section and they're all "Oh no, that's terrible! You can't do that!" but it's in the Comedy section, it's supposed to be a joke! I share your frustration at times, but others I just go with it and have a laugh :-D

Usually they're just desperate for two points and/or think they're being funny or ironic. But we all have bad days, and sometimes you just catch someone on here having a bad day who answers your question accordingly. Don't et it get to you. Like everything else in life, filter out the stuff that depresses or annoys you cos life's too short.

So you should only give answers that bolster the asker's incorrect beliefs? If someone asks a question, I assume they want a correct answer. So if they ask a question about contacting spirits or psychic abilities or some such, I will tell them that there is no such thing. Why give them a bad answer simply because they are asking a question from an incorrect point of view?

Call me crazy, but when I see people who can't seem to tell the difference between pseudoscience and the real thing (that is to say, valid science), I like to try to point it out to them. A little logic and reason never hurt anybody, did it?
