Is this one of the new front-loading washing machines?

Check the manual, you may need an HE (high efficiency) detergent. There's less sudsing to those soaps since there's less water being used in those machines.

1. Use laundry detergent for dark clothes when washing darks.

2. Use the measuring cup to measure out the detergent. The white things may be too much detergent in the wash. Too much soap is just as bad as not enough.

Go to the website or call the 800 number for the manufactuer of your washing machine and you might find some help. If you are finding this problem after you dry your clothes, I would have the dryer checked for excess lint build up. And, don't forget to check your clothes for bits of paper and tissue before you wash. One tissue can make a heck of a mess!

Use liquid detergent, not powders. Worked for me.

New washers have a different type plastic internals......maybe the plastic is reacting differently to the detergents. I know the new washers are having a terrible time with fungus growing in them due to the emulsifiers in the detergent. Bleach doesn't kill this. http://smellywasher.com/contact.php Keep this handy, you'll probably need the info sooner or later.

Try using liquid laundry soap for dark clothes and Jeans, Liquid soup I find work better on jeans and on dark clothing, or put the soap in the washer first and let it fill up with water and then add your powdered soap this also works well. also try not to wash your sweaters with your jeans, the fibers sometimes will stick to the jeans, and don't forget to make sure you empty your pockets for paper etc. Good luck.

Is this lint? If so throw them in the drier. Don't wash towels before dark stuff.
