write down your feelings and think to yourself; you are better than they are as you would never lower yourself to be so awful to another person, at least you have feeling and care, most people redicule others because they are very insecure in themselves, you already have one over on this person as you have the rest of your life to others like you and enjoy being with you, that person obviously has no idea how to do that and must have a very sad life, you dont!!!!

Was this a love relationship? It seems like you are really stretching this out... You knew them for 4 months and 6 months later you are still consumed with hate? What did they do to you? Maybe you have ptsd or complex ptsd...
There is a site called Bullyonline.org... You may find it very helpful... The site is down right now or I would have included the link... Maybe you do have ptsd.Check it out...

Sounds like you were the better person. What goes around, comes around. Sometimes it takes a long time. Be patient. The best revenge is a happy life. People can't stand it when you're happy. The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.

People have sh*t on me all my life. I dumped 'em and moved on.
Just put it behind you, learn from the experience so that it doesn't ever happen again.
I've had revenge fantasies too, but nobody is worth going to jail for.

dont be a fool by engageing in revenge.it seems to me that this person has you locked away in your own little cell.you are starting to warp youself.the way for you to unlock this prison door is to cease collarbrating with your jailer.you cannot overcome this by renderind evil for evil.repay it with kindness and good.ask your creator for wisdom and the grace to forgive.look up the didache to see if you can get a better overall picture/panormaic view of the way of life ,that if practised, will let you soar above lifes turbulances.to go for revenge is to dig two holes, and one of them is for yourself(metaphorically)today,im living by the book.it saves me from squandering hours warping my self in resentment(and no its not an easy way out,its the correct way)

Time. Just wait it out and keep yourself busy. Avoid the person at all costs. If that doesn't help, seek counseling. You are right not to act on hatred. That's the fast track to being a big loser in more ways than one.

I have been violently traumatised, and found that moving away and starting anew, and also time, are the best healers.
Remember, if you have been verbally abused - abuse it is. It it NOT fitting, and does not characterise you as a human being. It is abuse, or misuse of language, don't forget that.
If you open up, as you are doing, chances are that people will respond sympathetically to your trials and help you rebuild your confidence.

Order the book "The Traveler's Gift" and read it. It is a story about dealing with life and the past and how to let go of destructive memories.
