I work for a water company. If they get a complaint they log it. If they get 2 complaints from the same area they send an inspector and take samples.

Lonely little-old ladies love to complain a lot so as they get a visit from somebody...

I'd complain, but it may be something with the water in the part of the country that you live in. If all else fails, get a water filter, or a purifying refrigerator unit.

Possibly... check it out first though.. Can you try the water from one or two other places near you, neighbours etc. Is the poor taste general or just at your property. If it is general it is a matter for the water co.. If just yours it is you or your landlord need to get your pipes checked ..The water board might help but may charge if the fault is not theirs.

can you please try to drain somewater before you use it. If it is still tasting bad, take a sample and send it to a lab to check its status. Then you can know if the reason is the piping system or the water supply quality.
You can take that to court as an evidence if required.

If enough people complain I'm sure they will check into the problem. It couldn't hurt to give them a call. They may already be aware and attempting to remedy the problem.

Usually they'll come and test it for you, or at least that's what my water company does. Give them a call and ask.

Put in a suggestion and maybe they will. Sometimes horrific things happen like they accidentally switch your sewage line for your drinking water line, and you are drinking sewage. I recommend telling them.
