How would it impact Americans and the world if America was willing to spend that much on peace!
Star if you agree!
Then what do you think the money could be spent on to create peace?

Ok, for the record I mean spending it for the things that bring about, grow, instigate and inspire peace!!
I know you can't buy peace.
Thank you for your answers I now understand why the world is in the state it is in.

Well I ask you is it working, has it worked ever?.
Has war, created peace yet?

Nice fuzzy question, but the fact remains that it doesn't matter if we want peace as long as you have countries that want war. So our peace fund is rightfully called our military budget because without the deterrence of a strong military, backed with the promise of a strong, harsh response, the world would be more messed up than it is now.
Think about it in terms of your own neighborhood. you can go around planting flowers and waving hello to every one of your neighbors and everything can be all happy and groovy, but what are you going to do when an idiot moves in next door and is determined to upset the tranquility that you have going on? What do you do? You kick his ***, destroy him if need be to protect your way of life. It's is that simple. IT'S THAT SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or better yet, you live in a home with your spouse and children, you are a wonderful family, warm, giving, get along peacefully with each other. What do you do when someone breaks into your home in the middle of the night? You can't just sit there and say "can't we all just get along," as he's beating your kids. Or are you going to take some of your peace funds and offer some psychology sessions to the intruder?
Or do you just sit there and say, oh, no, don't do that, here's my bank statement, look, I have a great big peace fund. Stop beating my wife and kids. is that what you would do?

It's a good idea. I guess I would like to see it spent on helping build schools and hospitals in developing countries. That's enough to strengthen old friendships and build more positive views of the US in countries which are against the US. We should avoid interfering in politics. The only thing that would be important in the process would be making sure that 100% of our help was corruption free.
The UN does projects no and the corrupt leaders out there walk away with a lot of the 'peace' money sent to them.
I have to mention my other darker sinister side. I think leaders who kill their own people as they do in places around the world should be assassinated. They should be removed by an unknown group aligned to no country. Wars should be started by other countries not developed peace-minded countries. I guess the group should be something like a 'superman' in that superman worked only for justice not for any government. It could be the antithesis of groups like Al Qaida. The A-team? Leaders who abuse and kill would expect short lives.

You obviously have no idea how many billions goes to welfare. The military budget is only 20% of all tax dollars spent on government agencies. Why don't you find out what the other 80% is wasted on. Military spending is a sane thing to spend on.

One reason it will never work and I'm very sorry to say it
but
Power Croups and ultimate power croups ultimately
As long as one group feels it superior to another their will never be peace and the sad truth is we are all created equal.
Sorry the only way to get true peace is to make everyone equal and money will not do that

Disagrees; the propensity for peace also has to remain in the other departments and budgets.

Some nutball with grievances from 30 years ago would wade through your sea of daisies you replaced our shore defenses with, convert you to his religion or slowly slice your head off. I erased what he would do to your children while you watched. It was too graphic.
For the love of common sense girl get out of the drum circle, put down the peace pipe and join reality.

We do. It is called foreign aid. It has bought us resentment and accusations of meddling in the affairs of other countries.
There is no peace, love and happiness in this world, the hippies figured it out with Manson and found out that communes meant long hard hours of work. The same applies to peace, you can't buy it, you have to defeat those that disturb it.

Have you ever seen Star Trek. While I don't think that the world would be unified a lot less countries would be willing to attack us.
