Some large wandering spiders do this in response to the presence of predatory wasps - it gets the body up as high as possible and therefore farthest away from the wasp's sting. Otherwise, I don't know - why don't you write down everything you noticed at that time that might possibly have been associated with it? You've got an interesting science project there - see what you can find out!
