it could be, check for a show, and time these cramps. I had a few irregular ones on the wednesday a 4 weeks ago, then nothing, then on the sunday night i started having them again only this time they were coming every 5 mins and altho they didnt hurt, they were regular and a couple of hours later I gave birth. And i was 38 weeks but had the pains come and go from 37.

Plus, a sign that it is going to start soon is diorrhea - i had this for a few days before and then just after labour started.

Keep an eye on the time and if they are regular then baby is on way. Best of luck!!!

It could be a sign of labour starting but is more than likely just baby settling into your pelvis. If this is your first baby, they engage quite early and this does cause some pelvic pain, period like cramps. As long as the pain isn't regular and growing with intensity, you should be fine. To be sure, you should always check with your midwife though... when you are that far gone is pregnancy anything is possible. Good Luck...

1st check for all the signs of true labour. the cramps you are having may or may not be contractions. for true labour, the contractions must be 3 - 5 in 10 minutes and each one must last for 40 - 60 seconds, there should be show (liquor) and you are preterm (should be 38 - 42weeks) the most important feature of true labour is cervical dilatation (cervix) without this there is no cause for alarm. try to relax and do not undergo strenous activities. see a specialist on O & G.

It could but it's more than likely Braxton hicks which is the body's way of gearing up for labour. Do they go when you move around? TIf so then they are Braxton Hicks contractions and totally normal. I had these from about 28 weeks.
You can not be too cautious when you are pregnant so go to your doctor today for a check up but it's probably nothing.
Good luck with the baby xxx

Most likely they are braxton hicks contractions. Those are like "practice contractions" for your body. If they subside when you get up and move around, then they are probably not real. If they get worse when you get up and move around, there is a good likelihood that they are real. Any time anything in pregnancy concerns you, a call or a visit to your doctor is completely understandable. Even if it ends up being nothing, at least you can relax KNOWING it's nothing rather than stressing yourself and your baby with the unknown.

They could be Braxton Hicks contractions (ie your body practicing for labour).
Time them. If they are regular and become more intense, please contact your doctor right away.
If you were to give birth now, your baby's lungs may not be ready and if birth IS inevitable, your doctor will want to give you steroid injections to boos the baby's lungs so that when he/she is born they can cope with being 6 weeks prem.
If you are at all concerned, phone your doctor anyway.

at 34 weeks it could be a sign of false labor or you have strained something...
its best to go see your doctor asap now just to be on the safe side.
i had false labor with my first baby and it lasted about 8 hours then i went into labor and was ready to have my son about 4 hrs after i got to the hospital... he was a month early....
so go to the doctor / hospital now... get it checked out . yes they may send you home but its best to be safe then sorry..
god bless you both
cheers

Its your body getting ready for the labor, something is stretching, you might have even dialated a little, dont panic, but I would definitely take it easy so you dont go into premature labor. You are almost there, congratulations.
