having a problem at our computer lab where students put games (commercial games) on their computer and use some kind of folder locker that makes it undeleteable is there a way to prevent this abuse.

just notice the program seems to be a portable (run-anywhere) version.... is there a program that blocks its process?

Yes, dont give the students admin privelages when it comes to installing software.

You could set up virtual PCs for the students that would prevent them from Gaming at all.

Virtual PC 2007 for example does not virtualize DirectX.
It also has a feature that allows you to roll back any changes made on each reboot. So if someone were to put any software on the system you could then roll the virtual environment back to before the last user log in.

go in the registry editor remove the registry key related to the games folders/files
