You just need something to protect Windows registry. Try WinPatrol. Scotty of WinPatrol has been doing great in my PCs for almost 2 years.

Well to keep your computer running smoothly you just need a maintenance routine.

Your registry holds all the info on your computer. This includes installs, updates, re-installs and etc. So, when your computer is loading it needs to search the registry for all the information to load up the proper software configuration. So, if your registry files system is bloated, fragmented and error filled, you are going to have a very slow startup process. You should scan your registry to discover what condition it is in. If you pull up more than 20 errors, you should definitely clean it. The page below offers some free scans.

If you know what you are doing and what sites you are visiting then you really dont need anything...but because you asked you seem to have trojans, adware and spyware under control...did you do windows updates? that really should be one thing thats up to date. To keep your computer running fast i would say you should defragment your hard drive (link below).

That covers everything. If you get more then those won't work because after awhile they tend to stop working because the over ride each other and battle each other. I have those same ones too.

I think if you turn off the visual effects it makes it run a bit faster and smoother, but if you have a new computer i dont think this will have much effect.

Security software will always be 1 step behind, if you want to truly protect your machine don't download porn, hacked games or illegal MP3s.
