I remember the "Charlie" adverts. You remember how the boy and his cat (Charlie) used to give us tips on how to stay safe! It always ended with the boy saying "and Charlie says" followed by the cat saying"miaw row riaw rioww roww"!! (sorry i'm rubbish at cat impressions).

Kenny Everett was the voice of the cat in the 'Charlie says' adverts. I didn't know that until last year.
kja63 - was that series 'Tenko'? My Mum loved that!

Here's my list -
Jamie and the magic torch
Rentaghost
Newsround (thanks to Spawnee for a previous question)
The Goodies, which I hated! (especially Tim Brooke Taylor)
The 'Protect and Survive' public info film
Pages from ceefax
The test card
The epilogue (Monty Python did a funny spoof of this once)
And of course, the Morecambe and Wise crimbo specials?

Here's a largely forgotten gem.

"Timeslip" - 1970s kids TV series about a girl and boy who can travel between different periods in time by passing through a time barrier at an old experimental military base. With Cheryl Burfield as Liz Skinner, Spencer Banks as Simon Randall and Denis Quilley as Commander Trainer.

I remember a TV show from the UK (I'm in the USA) about women in prison. It was in the 70's and very well done. My Mom & I used to watch it on Public Television every week. Darned if I can remember the name of the show. Anyone got a clue??

ADDITION: Firefoxy, you are awesome! My Mom & I have been trying to remember that show for decades now! "Within these Walls" was it! Thank you so much :-)

hehe yeah I remember the Charlie adverts too.

On the same sort of theme, what about David Prowse as the Green Cross code man (before he went over to the dark side of the Force..).

And Jimmy Saville telling us to "clunk click every trip"..

I remember waiting up late to watch the Old Grey Whistle test. But also, when you see these programmes rerun now, how different they look because we only had a Black and White Telly for most of the time.
