i've lost the manual for this and need help! i've swallowed up a few pencils using the attachment and i can hear them rattling around, but they're not yet in the cylinder....where are they? they're not in the flexi tube, so i'm assuming there are some filters that i don't know about??

Hi!
There is a plastic tube leading down from the switch on button.
You can disconnect this, if you have a look you will see how to do this. That is were it will be rattling.

there should be a rubber flap at the bottom on the pipe where it goes into the vacuum, or keep the pipe straight tilt it and they should just fall out, they cant get in to the vacuum itself.
