Find an emotion.

Find the feeling.

You think nickel is boring, do you ...ha.

Well it is important, perhaps find some in your life. Don't write the poem about the nickel, but about what it was doing in your life.

Eg

The was a girl named Hickel
Who got herself into a pickle
She shopped till she dropped
And when at home she flopped
She found she only had one nickel.

What a terrible assignment,
To write a poem on an element.
Take the element nickel,
Heat it, melt it, and watch it trickle....

Seriously, I think this is a terrible assignment. And I'm a chemistry/physics teacher.

Nickel - coin - luck - toss-of-a-coin. Sure you can do something from that....

"My faith is decided by toss of a coin. How silver and nickel can carry faiths message is secret and dark, dark as the mines where the treasures where found." [Hyllengren, Tales from below, 2007]

There once was a man named Cole Trickle, whose car was made of lead and of nickel. He crashed in a race but didn't injure his face, yet Nicole sure proved fickle!
