America hates Hugo Chavez, because he acts in the interests of Venezuelans and we cannot have that. He does things like redistributing assets illegally sold to American companies at knock down prices back to the general populace through renationalisation.
How dare he not put America first....... : )

Because he talk away people power of freedom. This year he decided to make his job permanent. Taking way the people rights to vote! How would you feel if today president bush came on the TV and said we are in a war against terrorism and I have changed the Constitution and I will remain president until the war on terror is complete. He uses Bush as his rationale for doing so. It would not matter to him who was president all that maters to him is power. So I think Americans basically understand freedom and can understand what the people his country are facing in the coming years.
FREEDOM IS EVERY ONES RIGHT
In spite of a presidential term limit of 6 years, Chávez often suggests that he will remain in power for 25 years, a claim he denies as a misinterpretation of his intent. However he recently proposed a constitutionally binding referendum to allow for a third term. Chávez has said that if the opposition boycotts the 2006 Venezuelan presidential election, he might hold a referendum to abolish the presidential term limit of 12 years and allow him to run for re-election "indefinitely".

Building up his military. He says it is for defense of US invasion. Although he has bought mainly offensive weapons. Most of the aircraft he has bought has been for ground attack. If he were to be attacked by the US most of the stuff he bought would be destroyed in a week of fighting, yet it would be perfect for attacking another South American country.
He is spreading communism
He is give financial aid to Marxist guerrillas in Columbia.

Hugo Chavez is anti-American and it is the reason why Americans hate him. He controls the oil of Venezuela thereby causing the increase oil prices.

He nationalized much of the Venezualan economy, which is enough to set America off. Any small country which refuses to let America profit from its resources is seen as a threat. He also criticized American foreign policy in Latin America as imperialist and domination.
Basically, Americans have decided any socialist or communist society must be destroyed. It's sad, and it's a sickness.

He criticized them publicly. He disagreed with them.
That's all it takes these days.
Don't you remember back when the Iraq war was starting up? Canada refused to go, so Bush wouldn't even visit there. France criticized the US for wanting to go to war, so they poured French wine out into the streets and stopped selling it. Renamed french fries "freedom fries" and french toast "freedom toast".
It doesn't take much to have the US hate you these days.
