Keep in mind that depending on the type of dog, it could live until its 15 or more. So enjoy the days you have left and takw plenty of pictures. I try to make pictures of all our animals when we first get them and take snap shots of them every now and then. I make pet scrap books on my computer. We always bury our animals either at my parents house or my husbands mothers house. His family has had the land for a long and we all plan to keep it that way. But if you dont want to have your friend cremated you could ask a family member or friend if you could take a small corner of their property to bury it in. That way you can still go visit. Good luck with your difficult choice. I know its hard. I've been there too many times.

check with your vet, or check the yellow pages. There are many businesses that offer pet cremation. The procedure is done with the same dignity and respect as people. The urns range from simple to sophisticated. The prices range accordingly. No, you do not sound like a nut job!

You dont sound like a nut job at all, I would suggest (along with everyone else) cremation. But make sure you have loads of photos of her so you can look back and remeber her

Have her cremated and either keep her ashes in a special urn or scatter them some where your dog loves.
She will always be with you in your heart.
We have all of our dear animals buried in our very large back yard.
We have no intentions of moving though.

When she dies, she lives on in your memories. Wherever you go, she goes. But if you want a more visible reminder, why not have her cremated, buy a pretty urn to put her ashes in, and then you can take her with you wherever you go.

my beautiful dog died last year, i got her cremated and she is in a lovely oak box with her name in gold across the top. I'm sure you will have a few more years before you need to worry about losing your precious pooch though

the vets you go to should have a cremation facility or know of a pet crematorium where you can send your beloved pooch, and for n extra cost you can keep the ashes as well...( if you want to that is!)

I know how you feel... There are a number of pet cemeteries, some attached to human cemeteries, locally there is one by a big garden centre. Thiis would allow you to have a small memorial and somewhere to visit.
