Probably a pinched nerve or could be neuropathy (nerve damage) if you are a diabetic.

You must be seen by a Neurosurgeon or Neurologist to determine exactly where on your leg the numbness is. The nerves that come from the spinal cord pass through the vertebra - lumbar region may be pinched by an arthritic condition or a disc between the verterbra.
