here it is ,i am going to buy a tracfone , i was wondering before i activate it can i activate it on the att network with a different sim card, would that work?

NO tracfone has their firmware hard wired in the phone, not in the SIM card. So you cannot use a tracfone phone with another network.

Tracfones come airtank software. Depending on the phone, you might need to change the firmware, and that requires software and a data cable. If you buy a go phone (cheaper) you can pop in a cingular sim for sure.

NO, each sim card has its own code...that belongs to that phone only...
