yea its pretty much a sweatshirt but there are some jackets with hoodies, Depends on the material if its cotton then its a sweatshirt if its other materials then its most likely a jacket.

a hoogie is definetly a kind of jacket. they look kind of edgy on guys and cute on girls. they are the best for keeping warm in winter, there not a sweatshirt.
