i dont know why people dont like ep 1-3 i thought except for Jar Jar they were well done.
I grew up with those movies.
There are a couple of things i can say though.
About 6 months ago (though denied on several web sites) there came word of two Mini-movies in the works. They would each be an hour long and on tv. This is in addition to the series he's working on for tv.
Also
Not long after Ep 3 came out, a guy (dont know his name) ran into Lucas on a beach. He asked him if 3 was gonna be the last one. Lucas told him that at least for now, it would be.
He asked Lucas if he did anymore, would they be sequels or prequels.
Lucas said that the only thing he'd probably consider is a story line he has wanted to do.
800 years before Ep 1 a young Yoda helps win the Sith wars.
As for sequels,
In 1995 or so, i remember reading that Lucas had uncovered a old storage room with original props from the movies and this inspired him to start considering new movies.
The first on his list was "Heir to the Empire" a series set 5 years after Return of the Jedi.
In it, the New Republic is still trying to build itself. The remaints of the empire have retreated to a small part of the galaxy. But a Grand Admirl has resurfaced and has discovered a fortress with cloning technology and some other major weapons, including a supposdely dead Jedi Master who wants nothing more then to become the heir to the empire and take into posesion, Luke, Leia, and her two unborn twin children to train them into his own army.
It was a three book series (rereading it right now). It deals with the Republic fighting both the Grand Admirl and a crazzy dark Jedi, out to restore the empire.
I have always thought that would be a great seting for a sequel.

Short answer - NEVER !!!! Long answer: When Lucas first wrote the story line for SW it was a 12 episode mega saga. He wanted to tell it in the same fashion as the old Flash Gordon series back in the day. He realized that wouldn't work so after getting a little support from Fox he made what we now know as ep IV. Whether or not if it was supposed to actually be ep I or not is something that only Lucas knows and won't tell but there is verifiable proof that the first working title for what we now know as ep V was "2 of 12" ... in the end it is irrelevant anyways. A New Hope is different from the other movies in two ways. First it is the only one of them that can be seen as a stand alone movie. By that I mean it had a definite beginning and a definite end. If it had flopped as many, including Lucas to a certain extent, thought it would nobody would have had to know that there was more to the story. Second it is the only one of the movies that comes even remotely close to being told as the story line went. After that Lucas made two HUGE changes that led to the 6 movie epic saga that we have now. The first was to combine the characters of Darth Vader & Anakin Skywalker into one ... originally they were two different characters. This change led to the fabled "9 episode" story. The first trilogy was to be about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker, the second trilogy was to be about the rise of Luke Skywalker and the redemption of Anakin Skywalker, the third trilogy was to be about the "other Skywalker" that Yoda talks about in ep V. While writing the final duel between Luke and Vader in ep VI Lucas got stumped on what he could have Vader say to Luke that would cause Luke to attack his father in a dark side fueled rage. To solve this problem he made Leia the "other Skywalker". That change eliminated the third trilogy leaving us with the 6 movies ... end of story. It has been said that Lucas seems to be able to change his mind with the direction of the wind but this is one time that he won't. In all the old interviews with Lucas it is clear to see that he himself is not satisfied with just the story told in the OT ... that there is more story to be told. That has changed now, it is easy to see that he is now satisfied with the story that was told in the movies. The biggest thing that points to this is the fact that since the release of ep III his answer to the question "will there be more movies" has always been no. Another thing that most seem to forget is that Lucas owns everything to do with Star Wars ... EVERYTHING. There is zero chance that he will ever let anyone else pick up the story where he left off just as there is zero chance that he will ever let anyone make "remakes" of the movies. After his death you ask ... not gonna happen then either. He has added very specific clauses to his Will that detail his wishes for the SW franchise. In a nutshell, if any of his "heirs" make new SW movies they will loose everything from his estate. Since we're talking millions upon millions of dollars I don't see any of his "heirs" taking that chance. You will have some that say the Thrawn Trilogy written by Hugo Award winning author Timothy Zahn is ep 7 - 9. This is categorically wrong. It is true that in 1995 Lucas was giving serious consideration to making them into ep 7 - 9 but Harrison Ford was too busy with other projects and would not be able to reprise his role as Han Solo so the idea died a quick death. It was then that Lucas turned his attention to the SE versions of the OT and the prequel movies. That being said, even though the Thrawn Trilogy is NOT ep 7 - 9 Lucas HAS given it the tag of "official continuation of the story of Star Wars" ... If you care to read them the titles are "Heir To The Empire", "Dark Force Rising", & "The Last Command". These books are set 5 years after the events of ep VI & are a great and worthy addition to the story of SW & in truth are the main reason for the resurgence of the SW saga. There are 100s of books and comics that carry the story into the past and future but there will NOT be anymore live action movies ... it's as close to written in stone as you can get with Lucas. May The Force Be With You ... .

While several more episodes have been written, there will not be another movie. Lucas has already said he is too old to make anymore and he doesnt trust anyone else to do them

Dear god enough already, the plot has been dragged on for too long now.
Its always annoying when producers sacrifice a perfectly good ending just to earn a couple more money.

With JJB? Never.
Besides GL said it is over; so wait until GL die and their heirs hire a new director for a new movie, but without JJB.
