we have lived in this apt for 5 years. there has always been mold in the bathroom. In the toilet around the rim inside the bowel grows a white ish slime. It doe not take long for it to begin to grow. The shower and walls have a black mold that comes back relentlessly. And i am pretty sure there is pink mold (not soap skum build up) we do not use pink soap or shampoo. Even with using the fan when showering and wiping the shower and toilet down often the mold returns. Cleansers and sprays etc do help clean off the mold.... not the stain though and it will not stay gone!!!!!!! what do i need to do ....

It sounds more like a mildew problem. Mold does not grow in water, and is puffy, while mildew is flat. If you are keeping the bathroom clean this will not be a problem. I squeegee my shower with each use and that seems to work, as it can completely dry out. Mildew does not survive a dry environment.

Use bleach in a spray bottle at least 2 times a week. All bathrooms will grow mold due to the amount of moisture from taking showers. Sorry thats just life.

You have to clean the mold with bleach. That will kill it, but it will return again. Once you have a mold problem, you will have a mold problem.
If you have an air conditioning vent in the bathroom, you might want to keep it closed. Maybe hire someone who disposes of mold.

Use different products. ANY area in constant contract with moisture will eventually get mold and/or slime.

The "pink" residue in your bathroom is from traces of iron in the water.

I have to clean my bathroom and toilets at least twice a week to keep them clean.

Bathrooms, by their nature, are mold harbors. You have to stay on top of it daily to keep it in check. There is no other way. Any place that is warm and damp will grow mold.

bleach kills it - the problem is that mold could be behind the walls - ask your landlord to have a mold specialist come out and check for safety purposes.
