One of the commonly accepted (but not necessarily true!) features of personality is that it is relatively stable and consistent throughout our lifetime. This is probably because genetic traits can contribute significantly to who we are, hence why newborn babies can already exhibit characteristics unique to them alone.
However, our experiences can alter our distinctive behavioural and mental characteristics and changing the situation that we are in can in turn change the way we behave. More seriously, brain injuries such as damage to the frontal lobe in a person can make them completely different too.
Generally though, it appears that while we are predisposed towards certain traits from very early on, the capacity for a certain amount of change is certainly there and does occur.

I really changed from a coupple years ago. I used to think it was cool to be angry and talking trash was really entertaining. But since I have learned to value being positive, tolerant and accepting of situations and people. I try to see the best in people even when my first reaction is to be angry with them. I hope that I went from a rough person to being a little softer. I know my speech has changed.

It changes all the time with age and experience but the changes are so subtle that we fail to notice them.Similarly,we can bring about considerable changes in our behavioral patterns and thus change our personality. That's the beauty of free will, humans have.

Personality changes with every passing second, every immeasurable fraction of time.
Each influence from the world outside one's own mind leads to changes however big or small.
The people who touch our lives are the greatest influence.
A loved one can drive great changes.
