I have a 300W PSU in my computer. My new card says minimum of 350W. I only have 2x256MB of ram, athlon 64 3500+ CPU, 80gb HD, 3.5floppy, USB firewire card and one DVD burner in my PC. What would happen if i just plug the card in and see if it works? Would it damage anything because there isnt enough power? Or would the computer just not turn on?

The PC will switch on.
The only thing that will be strained is your PSU it will run hot and it will keep shutting down which will cause problems.

Use it for the time being but please buy a 500w as soon as possible.

Pull the plug on the floppy drive I doubt if you are using that.
Copy your games on to you HDD to minimise the use of the DVD.

your system may not even boot up with a 300w supply. Why risk a melt down that may end up in a internal power surge that may fry everthing in the box. Get a 500 w supply and you be happy.
