If someone is gay (as opposed to bisexual) that is their sexual orientation, and it cannot be changed.
A person can think that they are gay and lead their life as a gay person, but if they find a partner of the opposite sex it does not mean that they stopped being gay. It means that they had always been bisexual and most likely felt as if they had to choose between gay and straight.
Former leaders of so called "ex-gay" groups have apologized for their previous opinionated actions.
Even the ultra conservative president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has said that scientific research "points to some level of biological causation" for homosexuality & "I am absolutely confident that a large number of homosexuals are telling the truth when they say they did not choose that orientation."
One of the most outspoken people claiming that they were "cured" was John Paulk, who became active with the anti-gay groups Focus on the Family and Exodus.
He was "cured" to the point that, after marrying and having children, he went to the Washington D.C. gay bar Mr. P's where he purchased drinks for other bar patrons for over an hour and later claimed he did not know it was a gay bar and only entered to use the restroom.
Paulk is no longer their spokesperson.

we are all born pre-disposed to one orientation or another. it's genetic, like your skin or eye color....none of which can be changed. there is no such thing as "ex-gay"....only those who brain-wash or have been brain-washed into denying who they are and lying to themselves and everyone else by the so-called "Christians" who think we can be "cured." you can't cure that which is not a disease. but if those people would only open their minds and learn facts instead of preaching hate and intolerance and believing in lies and stereotypes, the world would be a much better place.
but if you can live with yourself lying for the rest of your life and being miserable to please the bigots, then THAT is your choice. no one "chooses" to be LGBT. it's just the way we are.

People are born gay, and will always be gay... but you can always go into denial and live an unhappy and unfulfilling life.
