i like the easy going nature of non-commision sales...but i'm pretty good at selling. Today i sold 800 dollars worth of things. i know certain areas are commision where less people go. which do you prefer? and do you really get more money on commision areas?

If you are good at commission sales, then go for it. The holiday season is fast approaching and you should do well there. Good luck.

commision if your great at sales especially around x-mas time..you have no limit of how much you can make, if you work hourly you have set salary and it doesn't matter how much you sell, also depends what your selling if you think you can sell that product do it, if you think the product is going to be difficult to sell look for somewhere else to work...you should a job that offers both salary and commision..

It depends on which dept. u work in. i used to work in the men's shoes and suits dept at macys. i was on base and commission. if u work womens shoes, ur only on commission. but fine jewlery, furniture, and cosmetics are all base plus. and yea, if u work on base plus, u make a lot of money, especially with christmas coming. if u work in womens shoes, u can make a whole lot more, but since ur strictly commission, slow times after the holidays and returns can be a problem. ive never worked on straight commission, but in know it can be really great and really lame. one week you can go home with over $500, and the next less than half. but the straight commission is a little complicated, u always get paid at the end of the week, but its weird, ask a manger or co-worker to explain it better. so yea, try to get a base plus job, the commission really helps.
