Michael Jordan is the only player to do this, of course.

Will any player ever again even do it in his career? The only other players to do it in their careers were Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson.

There's a good chance that Wilt would have won DPOY over Bill Russell one of those years if they had the award then. Jerry West is the only other player who I think could have won it.

Wilt Chamberlain winning over Bill Russell??? You obviously don't know about the game where Wilt took 40 shot attempts and only made 1 shot with Bill Russell guarding him in the FINALS!

LOL.. MJ is the "only" player to do this... "only" other players did it too! LOL! That makes no sense at all, Jordan jocker!

But currently with Ben Wallace, Bruce Bowen, Marcus Camby around, Kobe will not get the defensive player of the year. Besides, Kobe's defense only works on people of Leandro Barbosa caliber. Kobe can't guard Lebron, Wade, Arenas, Marion, or even Baron Davis. I'm talking about Kobe, because let's face it, Kobe will be scoring champ for the next 2 years. I'm tempted to say 5 years, but I don't want to be that cocky!

I don't know how good Oden will be in the NBA, but he seems like a Hakeem-like or Shaq-like player. So that might happen with Oden. And if Bron-Bron's defense can get hyped up like Kobe's defense (Heck, Lebron got more steals and blocks - why aren't people talking about his defense!), Lebron might do it. But I doubt Lebron will ever win the scoring title because he likes to pass.

I think it won't happen next season. The closest will probably be Kobe. We all know he's gonna be the scoring champ again, and his defense is regarded as one the best in the league. But there are other better defenders out there like Ben Wallace, Dwight Howard, Marcus Camby, AK-47, Bowen, etc...

Assuming all of those gamers are of their primes, i'm determining on team #a million. Payton and Cooper are not actual enought to handle Jordan, so as meaning Rodman could probable guard him. If that happens, Artest is going to punish Cooper on the block. Alvin Robertson and Gary Payton will cancel one yet another out because of fact they have been quite the same form of participant, nonetheless GP replaced into greater offensive minded. Mutombo and Wallace will cancel one yet another out besides. the two are shot blockers and rebounders with constrained offensive ability instruments. That leaves us to Zo and The Dream. I provide the area to Hakeem because of fact of his scoring skill, yet in his top, he continues to be no longer as sturdy and actual as Zo, so as which will shrink his factor production. So regardless of Rodman guarding Mike, i will nonetheless provide him 26 and Artest will p.c.. up the slack on Cooper, scoring approximately 22. i will additionally provide Zo 18 against Hakeem, yet because of fact he will would desire to bypass away his guy to help Cooper with Ron Ron. the only guy or woman I see on the different team getting 20 plus is Olajuwon, so i think of team a million wins by ability of a minimum of 10.

kobe is actually a very good defender..numerous all defensive selections..

its just people expect the likes of ben wallace, bruce bowen, people who are known primarily for being defenders, to win the defensive player of the year..

if anyone would come close to winning the Defensive Player of the Year and a scoring title in the same season, i guess it would have to be Kobe

Possibly Greg Oden if he turns out to be such a monster like Shaq.

i thought of allen iverson to have won 1 before because of his steals...

tim duncan and kg will not win scoring titles...

shaq is a better candidate but his scoring now is sliding...

so if tmac will get back to his old rhythm he can do it... but i doubt it...

so only kobe can....
