Your tank holds 19 gallons and 1/4 of that is gasoline:
1/4 x 19 = 19/4 = 4 3/4
So you have 4 3/4 gallons of gas remaining.
For each gallon you can travel 16 miles:
4 3/4 * 16 = 19/4 * 16 = 19 * 4 = 76
Yes, you'll just make it (in a perfect mathematical world).

= (19 * 1/4) - (76 / 16)
= 19/4 - 19/4
= 0
Answer: Yes. When you reach the next gas station your tank will be completely empty.

19/4=4.75 gallons left.
4.75 X 16 mpg=76 miles worth of gas left.

Not if it's 76 miles up a mountain, and if you try it you'll be seeing your steps as you walk to the next town with that Pee Wee Herman thumb out.

first, determine the amount of gas you have.... 1/4 times 19 gal = (about 5)
then determine how far that gets you. 5gal times 16 miles/gal = about 80..... you have exactly enough to get there... so, yes, but as long as it is not into the wind, or uphill. then your screwed.
