Think about it. No computer site can walk thru your house like a buyer would and see the view (or lack of) experience the noise (or lack of), see how well you have kept it up and decorated it (or not).
What your home will sell for can be estimated by an agent for free or by an appraiser for a fee. They have to walk thru it to be accurate.
I have seen zillow be much more than ten thousand off on a hundred thousand dollar house. The computer picks the wrong houses to compare it to and does not how to adjust for your exact location and condition. (or adjust for the other houses condition or location).

No, you get what you pay for and the free sites like zillow are at best a shot in the dark. You can ask a realtor to give you a market opinion but that is just an opinion and every one has one. The only way is to have a appraisal done. Sorry but thats the way it is.

The estimates that zillow provides aren't worth the computer screen they are printed on, but you can use the sales data to do your own estimate. The problem is that zillow does not have any idea if the comps it is using are at all accurate, but you should be able to judge if the houses in a nearby neighborhood are really a fair comparison or not.

Not that's worth a crap. Zillow is a bad joke and doesn't really give values any more. It's morphed into more of a "FSBO" site than anything else now. When Zillow did list values, it was off by more than $23,000 (too high) on a home I had just sold, even though they did have the correct sales price!

Sites like this can only tell you what the homes sell for in your area. You would need an appraisal to find out how much it is really worth.

It's called HouseValues.com they will pull comps in your area and give you a rough estimate what your house could sell for based on what has sold in the last six months in your area.
