Isn't anyone else tired of Rugby fans flapping off on here calling American Football "soft" and "dumb"?
I'm sure even LSU and USC fans can agree on that much.....

Rugby players have talent, but I don't think you can call American football "Soft" on any level, even comparing it to a very physical sport like rubgy. There's a reason they wear all that padding: half of the hits and blocks you see in American Football are downright illegal in Rugby.

No American Football is not soft but either is Rugby and I will tell ya it is incredible to attend a game. I went to a game a few years back while i was in Dublin, Ireland and i was shocked by the speed and the talent that those guy's have. Also, the fans are rabid I tell ya it was so much fun truthfully a lot more to attend then an NFL game , it an experience that is unexplainable. By the way were do you think our football came from uh Rugby yep that's right and if we lived in Europe , New Zealand or Australia we would be saying what your arguing against

Rugby is truly retarded...ur tying to go forward but u can only pass the ball back?? Rugby is not even in the same ballpark as football...and i also don't get why they call it American football...don't they play football in Canada...CFL anybody?...and wat about NFL Europe??...I'm sick of rugby fans talking about pads...if u walk upto someone and then bear hug them like u do in rugby, then obviously u don't need pads...but when u have a big guy run at u with a head of steam, only an idiot wouldn't wear pads...If English people think they're so brave, they should come here and play football without pads...tho i doubt they'd live to tell the story...

I think Rugby players don't understand that football would have been made ILLEGAL in the U.S. had it not been for the padding. They used to have an injury and death sheet to go beside the box score. Way, way too violent to not have the padding. I agree with you though. What I don't get is if they think our sport is dumb, why come here? I don't go to the rugby section, I don't go to the soccer section, I don't go to any of the other sections to say I think their sport is dumb. It is my opinion and no reason to bother them about it.

American football as they call it is a much faster game with larger stronger players and if they dispute that how many Rugby players weigh 300 lbs or run sub 4.4 forties. American football is also a vastly more complicated game with more complex strategy involved.

Yeah. Rugby is so tough. They are hard core yet look at the rules. You have to tackle them properly or you aren't playing fair. Shame, shame we wouldn't want anyone to get hurt. And stomping on peoples head that can't be legal, to whoever the idiot up there that had to lie to make rugby look tough. Just read the rules, watch the games, and play the games. I know most other countries it is hard to find pads and play a real American football game to regulation and that's probably why they talk crap, because they haven't experienced the real deal.

players bleeding and broken teeth in the field. how do you even call it a sport.....?
football isnt just about hard hitting, you have to be smart to play it..

the film makes it look kinda slow but most of those guys are running at american football speeds.
i like both american football is fun to watch but has to many breaks. rugby is fun as well and they hit hard as **** but some other parts of the game are really wierd. everyone should quit hating on others sports and agree that all sports are hard to play and take an incredible amount of talent and ability.

You're absolutely right we can agree on that! I don't go around calling sports I don't like or understand "soft" why is it okay for them to do it? I'll never understand that. "Such-n-such isn't a sport I like, I'm going to belittle those that do." I live in Indiana, I HATE basketball (but don't tell anyone, I think that's a crime here!) but I don't make belittle the staggering number of basketball fans here. And most of them don't belittle me for liking hockey (which also may be a crime here!)

Rugby players are animals. They play without pads in a savage sport. I just would not pay to see it. Hell, I would not watch it for free and that goes for soccer too.
