Leaders are supposed to be leaders. They have more knowledge and awareness (hopefully) than a hwood zombie leftist, or a UAW factory slave. They are elected to do what they think is best for the country. When they start pandering to the common will, they may get re-elected but they have lost their purpose.

Most of them know what would result from a US pullout from Iraq. We'd likely have to send troops in again in 5 or 10 years to prevent the region from falling into a major war.

Loyal Republicans who support Bush and his war use any methods possible to obstruct the work of the Senate to end the war. I guess they can afford the million dollars a minute.

Because we Americans continue to reelect these people to office. Look at Ted Kennedy or Byrd. I am for term limits, two terms as a senator is enough. Our forefathers who wrote our Constitution did not intend on having career politicians in the first place.

Each Senator has an agenda. In order to get the votes necessary to obtain what they want many senator’s sell their vote for promises that others will vote for their bills.

In the case of war funding, no senator wants to be known for not supporting our troops, so they vote the money to show support. Problem is it will be a long time, if ever, before the troops receive anything from this money.

That vote clearly shows that both Republican and Democrat Senators aren't listening to you. But, they just might be listening to the American people who live in "fly over country" and don't factor into all of those polls conducted by newspapers and others who are based on both coasts.

Decode this lyrics " Say you say me"
They are listening alright.
The problems is they getting more complaints than solution in sight.
When they have only two hands.
Ever wonder whose faults is that.
With complaints, complaints, complaints.
Luke 9.55-56

It's no longer a country, "By the people, for the people". It's now a country, by the corporation, for the corporation.
