So I see a lot of posts about how a lot of rap is crap nowadays (which I don't disagree with) but are there any artists that you find that give a posistive messages and good beats (and please don't say kanye)??

For me:
-MF Doom
-Madvillan
-De la Soul
-Raekwon
-Pete Rock

Heard of them?? Any thoughts???

Good list everyone, I forgot some of the ones you mentioned but couldn't agree more!

To Dave S:

I said no Kanye b/c I feel like everyone thinks he's the "child" of hip hop. I have nothing againist him b/c I do like his songs but there are also a lot of great artists out there that don't nearly get enough recognition for uplifting and inspiring songs as well.

BDI Thug:

You learn something new eveyday, I didn't know they were the same, I always thought they were a collaboration........interesting though.

And I am going to add Kanye to my list anyway. I think he has plenty of quality songs.

These are the ones with "positive messages and good beats" there are also other good songs on these CDs

From Graduation alone:
Champion, Everything I am, Big Brother, Homecoming, Stronger, Can't tell me nothing and Good Night.

From Late Registration:
Hey Mama, Roses, Heard Em' Say, Touch the sky, We can make it better(UK version of CD), We Major, Drive Slow (Kanye's verse is a good little story), Diamonds are forever,

College Dropout:
We don't care, All Falls down, Spaceship, Jesus walks, Never Let me down, School spirit, through the wire, family business.

Random songs:
My way- my favorite Kanye song.
Out the game
Impossible
The Good, The bad, The ugly.

MF Doom and Madvillan are the same. But your list is pretty good. Dangerdoom is another MF Doom character.
