I would say New Zealand is one of the safest although, there is crime here. But there is crime everywhere

The American continent is definitely not safe. You have the BIG San Andreas Fault and everyone's still waiting for the BIG one. Recent Katrina Hurricane doesn't help. Plenty of tornados in the mid-west and the Mississippi has flooded so many times. For South America, earthquakes and floods had been frequent bane of late. Parts of Northern Europe is fairly safe in terms of tornados and earthquakes. However, global warming has impacted a lot of countries in the summer with floods. Agree that Sweden and the Scandinavian peninsula has been fairly safe lately. Volcanos in Italy and the Mediterranean area could still be a threat. Singapore is relatively safe as it sits on a continental shelf. Africa is also safe from earthquakes and tornados - but personal safety? That's another matter altogether.

Singapore. The country is *very* serious about law enforcement. People don't even jaywalk, and the place is almost antiseptically clean.
Singapore has 12 times the population of Vancouver but just half the crime rate

I will say Canada bcuase that is where I live.Of course we have crime and social issues just like every country.I feel Canada is the safest place because it is my home and there is no place like home.

Depends where you go, you can stumble across bad areas in any country.
For example I would say my village is very safe but we are very near to Manchester which especially at the moemtn is considered to be unsafe
