Does the state notify people/institutions when you get married?

After you get married does the state notify people of your change in maritial status (i.e. single to married)? Like insurance companies, DMV, IRS, etc...

No. You have to do all that yourself.

That is what getting a license to be married is about! The marriage license is public information!

No, you have to file a change of staus and if you change your name, you have to notify everyone of that. You can normally do most of it over the internet, it makes it easier.
