As per the NFL schedule, the Giants and the Jets play each other once every four years. In that case, there is a predetermined home team, and a predetermined away team. In those games, the "away" team gets a rare away game in their own home stadium. The Giants and Jets typically play each other every year in the NFL Preseason, and the teams rotate annually home/away.

It actually matters, since both teams are fully subscribed by their own season ticket holders. Giant fans don't know or care about the Jets and Jet fans don't know or care about the Giants even though both teams play in the Meadowlands.

relies upon who's scheduled because of fact the dwelling house team. If the two communities play at GIANTS' STADIUM and it is the Jets dwelling house game they'll only call it the Meadowlands for that game. truthfully nonetheless the NFL has a schedule they persist with now.

the schedule makers pre determined who is home or away.this year the giants are the home team.the jets will wear their road uniforms and will sit on the benches where their opponents normally sit.the fans will be mostly giants fans, but a few jet fans will find a way to get tickets.

It depends on whose stadium they play in. Its kind of like when the New York Yankees and New York Mets play each other, or when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels play each other. Whichever stadium you play in is the team that has the home field advantage. There is just something about playing in your own stadium that really makes you feel comfortable, which helps you gain the momentum over your opponent.
