Luzon by Car, a book by Jill Gale de Villa (an American). It is the best reference when you want to travel around Luzon. It talks about all destinations, how to get there, where is the best stop for food, how many kilometers from the restaurant to the next turn off point, etc. Excellent. Available at National Book Store.

Lonely Planet (Philippines edition). Lonely Planet is like the world’s authority on travel. Enough detail to get by, but allow for inflationary adjustments when accommodations costs are mentioned.

E-Z Map, Road Atlas and Stopover Guide. I bought mine at Shell Select : P295. Very good and reliable reference.

Then there is Colors Philippines, Travelers Lifestyle Guide. Bought it for P130.

Of course, you can also do your research on the internet. But bringing a book is unbeatable, and you can do check marks on destinations you have done, so you will know where you should go next.

Lonely Planet (Philippines edition)

That's what my beau and I used when we were traveling in the Philippines last year. It's very helpful for us. <*-*>
