If I wanted to introduce a friend to the "Stargate" saga, can anyone recommend the exact chronological order of ALL the Stargate movies and television shows so that every detail of the story makes sense from beginning to end?? (For example; watching "Stargate SG-1:season 8" before watching "Stargate-Atlantis-season 1", etc...)
Also, can anyone tell me for sure that "Stargate-SG 1" has been completely cancelled after only 10 seasons or, is there any chance of a season 11??

"Stargate" fan here. . . :)

Start with the movie, "Stargate", with James Spader and Kurt Russell.

Next comes "Stargate SG-1". Watch the first seven seasons and the two-part season eight premiere, "New Order".

"Stargate Atlantis" runs concurrently with the last few seasons of "SG-1". So, if you want to ensure every little detail makes sense (they do overlap a little), alternate "SG-1" and "Atlantis" episodes. Eg., "New Order", "Rising", "Lockdown", "Hide and Seek". . . .

"SG-1" goes on for ten seasons, and then "Atlantis" continues on its own beginning with its foruth.

There are two direct-to-DVD "SG-1" movies coming out next year, but there's no season 11 in the works--unfortunately ;)

ok so movie first.. it is the beginning.. then the series.. follow the series and when it introduces Dr. Wyer (sp) then you can start with Atlantis.. honestly so you know the original Dr. in SG-1 is a blonde lady.. the actress that played in 'Blood Ties' most recently.

and no they arent making another season of SG-1 .. not happening.. Richard Dean Anderson and the rest of the cast decided around season 6 or 7 that 10 was gonna be the end.. That's why they started Atlantis.

Well, if that were true, Google would need an Army of editors to slant all the data one way or another. A computer program can't differentiate left or right wing politics because the concepts are complicated and many faceted. It would have to be a manual operation. For now, its a show stopper.

stargate the movie itself was a big letdown. the movie trailer presented it like a great battle between special forces with all their earth technology gizmos against everyone in another planet with their alien technology and their spaceships with lasers and all.

but the movie turned out as sort of mini-lawrence of arabia to liberate shanghaid slaveworkers with bunch of guys ( not armies ) fighting skirmishes ( not battle as in planet invasion ) in the desert against big slow moving birdhead musclemen led by a gay egyptainlooking alien. and for all the buildup of a possible interplanetary war, a hand-carried atomic device finishes off all the aliens. shuck! iraq put up a bigger fight.

I know SG-1 came before Atlantis, so I'd watch those first. . . . other then that, I dunno.
