Two years ago he went in for "minor" surgery which turned into microfracture surgery and he missed that whole season.

According to ESPN.com the surgery was successful and he should only miss two to three weeks. There was no need for micro fracture surgery.

Suns forward Amare Stoudemire will undergo minor arthroscopic knee surgery on Tuesday but is expected to be sidelined only two to three weeks.

Unless he further more injures it (i'm referring to the knee) by hastening to work-out its unlikely that his recovery would be longer than what the doctors and team officals expect.
Hope this helps.

he'll be undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. he'll miss at least 2-3 weeks, that said he would probably miss the suns traning camp in tucson and will play in the latter part of the phx's pre season games..
dont worry suns fans, this aint bad as microfracture surgery..

Extremely low. This surgery isn't as bad as the last one, I wouldn't expect to see him miss over three weeks.

that would suck on a big time exciting player. i hope he's gonna be fine but i wouldn't be surprised if his career is over if it already is. he will not be the same player anymore.

it really depends on how his knees hold. remember, he had micro fracture in the past. I hope he recovers soon.
