Apparently Hitler was not a common surname in Germany before or after Adolf Hitler — who was by the way Austrian (Adolf Hitler was born on April 20th 1889 in BraunauamInn, Austria).

There was a show on History channel today about Hitlers Family.... anyone at least related to him has changed their name, I would imagine anyone else would as well.

Hittler and Hidler and similar versions. but not Hitler.
There are Hitlers in the USA and England and Austria, but not very many as most changed their name to Hittler, Hidler, or similar versions.

It's very simple: the name "Hitler" has been banned from use in any German state.
