This is one of the kinds of questions for which personal experience is most likely to deceive. It has to do with your own attractiveness; it's a loaded issue. And your "sample" is self selecting, and the guys who are likely to tell you they like your skin tone are the ones most attracted to you.
___Racist white guys might not like your skin tone. Others might be relatively indifferent to you skin tone, but like your eyes. Who's to know, unless you ask or they tell?
___If you get a lot of looks from guys, maybe it's just because you're generally attractive. And who knows what makes attraction work? Or not?

Really? Actually, I have found that white men who find Asians attractive are usually attracted to the person or something else about her, not the skin. One western guy who liked me had consistently made it clear that it was my smile which had attracted him.
Also, many Asians are not brown or tan, but more pale or yellow. That's why we call western born Asians a banana - yellow on the outside, white inside.

Everybody would like to have something different or outstanding for a change?
It's also the same if you look the other way around.
Most Asian men will go for the white ladies if given a chance, the fairer the better.
Why? Because there are very few pure/snow white women in Asia (exception of Japan, China and Korea). So it's like rare gem for them.
And with most White men, their rare gem would be the darker skinned women?

first off, any person who is attracted to someone else based purely on skin color is incredibly shallow.
second, most of the people I know who specifically look for partners of other races (this goes for guys and girls) are attracted to the idea of something "exotic" and "other." They like the idea that this is something different from them, despite the fact that most differences are only skin deep.
There are quite a few theories about this in discourses on colonialism and the sociology of race-slavery, mostly about sexualizing the "other" because of notions of sexual purity and moral superiority within ones own race. I'm not saying this is a conscious thought when someone finds someone else of another race attractive, but that it is a social construct that has been assimilated into our collective cultural experience.

Okay, all you ladies out there: Listen The F' Up! This will be a no-***t, in your face, dead honest answer. Read and learn.
There are three things that American women need to realize and accept in order to change this phenomenon of American men looking to other countries for their women.
1. You are not my equal, because we are different. The supreme court held that "different can never be equal" in 'Brown vs. Board of Education'. This is the same thing. You can not pee (properly) standing up. I can never learn to push out a baby. You can do the splits (or at least get closer than 90% of men). I can do 100 push-ups, on my knuckles, before breaking a sweat. We are different. Celebrate the differences.
2. You are a sex object. When we look at you as such, it means we find you attractive. Women in the States seem to misunderstand this basic premise: men want to have sex with attractive women. Women, in general, want to be seen as attractive. American women, however, want to be seen as attractive without being seen as a sex object. Women in America need to understand that the two are the same thing. Saying "she's beautiful" and saying "I want to bed that woman" are essentially the same statement in man-speak.
3. Sex is a need for most men. Women need compliments, validation, conversation, a feeling of security, and a host of other things for which most men have no name. Men need sex. So you think I look nice? Thank you. Now get naked. Western women think that sex is something they can use to get what they want. Pay attention, ladies: withholding sex from your man triples the likelihood that he will cheat. Why? Because men need sex.
Best of luck.

I'm afraid that's not my interracial specialty lol. I thought some white men like Asian women for other reasons, not the complexion?

It's not necessarily about the way they look although many of them are very attractive. It's more about the commonly held perceptions the men have of these women. Many men think the women are meek, quiet, submissive, hot in bed, and value their families more than their careers.

I can't speak for everyone but as a Canadian we go to the tanning machines to get a certain color in our white skin. It has been a tradition that a little color makes you look nice. I remember when I was young we all wanted a nice tan. Those days are gone with the dangers from the son however the idea is still there. A little color still look nice to me. It must be in our white brains in the north.....

No, White men like Asian because they don't have a lot of hair on their bodies. Color is secondary.
