They count the game decision, yes?

Stats are just a byproduct. A wonderful fun byproduct, sure. But they are not the point, merely the method and accounting.

no not for tie breakers because some teams' success come from team efforts rather than 1 or 2 individuals efforts (not counting the yankees and red sox)

No. It has always been clear-cut and should stay that way. 162 games is the season.
