Equality means same treatment and same laws not laws with biases and orientations towards a gender. Women think they can have it both ways. Is that fair?

You're on to something. I've often wondered why so many women get away with murdering their husbands by claiming he "abused them" even though they never called the police to report the abuse or left the abusive husband. I've also wondered why women serve in the military and get the same pay and promotions as men, while never being called upon to go into combat, which is the primary purpose of the military.

You function under the mistaken belief that life is somehow inherently fair to begin with. So, what girl wee wee'd on your cornflakes? Not all women fit into the mold you are casting. You just need to meet the right one, that's all. When you do, your outlook on the whole deal will change. It also helps if you do not equate equal and same. Men and women are different, and if you need help with that concept, any biology book will prove enlightening. They are due equal consideration under the law, in things where sex differences do not apply. That would explain why things like tennis matches are handled a little differently, and why men and women don't compete against one another in sports. The other items are matters of social mores which have and are changing. If you don't want to open the door, then don't. Don't ask the girl out, don't offer to pay, and keep squawking about how unfair life is. It will guarentee you are a bachelor for a long time.

You might want to post this on the Gender and Women's Studies and see what they have to say about it. I'm guessing you'll get quite a few opinions.

Okay, first off, tennis is the ONLY example i've EVER heard where women get more pay. In all other fields of employment, men still get paid more than women. That's right, in our equal world of today, women's time is still worth less than men's.

1) laws are just laws, each one is ruled on a case by case basis. may the reason why it seems like 'they go in favour of women' is because men are more jerky than women, and so get taken to court more often?
2)Not all women expect chivalry. And guys who ARE chivalrous and considered gentlemen, is all. Be a jerk if you want to be.
3)I didn't expect my boyf to pay on dates, he just insisted.
4)I proposed to my man.
5)i've asked guys out before, and i've been asked out before. It's not an all or nothing thing.
6)pulling the door open goes back to the chivalry question. and i don't expect that
7)because 'men are tougher' than women. besides, NOBODY is drafted anymore. it's all voluntary enlisting. At the time when there was drafting, women weren't considered equal.
8)there are support groups for men, you just aren't looking hard enough. as for welfare, this goes back to the fact that women still aren't treated equal, they earn less, they usually will have kids with them, the guy owns all the property(s), the guys are more dangerous if they've gone over the edge than women are (statistics prove this), so women are more in NEED of support.
9) Meh, why does anyone pay people money for playing this game. why do people play it? standing in the sun for hours, trying to hit a stupid ball, and risking the splits everytime you run for the ball, no thanks.
11)because women are considered physically inferier to males, so this sort of acheivement is therefore more noteworthy 'far out, i can't believe she managed it!!'
12)because men think with their johnsons. - seriously, if i'm being 'the helpless little woman' it's because i'm actually feeling like that, yes, some women abuse this power, but if they actually love the man they are with, they wont. I don't abuse this power. I have normal honest discussions with my husband, i make normal requests of him, and i do things for him before he even asks, because i'm a female, and i know what he wants and needs, because that's what a woman does, takes care of people, anticipates their needs, puts them before herself.

It's not going both ways, there's still a long way to go before women are truly equal. For example, yay, we can work, as long as we can manage the kids and the housework AND our husband at the same time. what's that? in order to afford a house these days we HAVE to work AND do all that other stuff? wtf?

Why do men make more money than women who have the same education and the same exact job title?

Why has there never been a female president in the history of the U.S?

We could do this all night!

You're the exact reason why women didn't have rights. You have the same neanderthal mentality.

We have made some headway and you're in here bitching about it! Get over it!

How do you think women felt years ago when they were not allowed to hold a job or even vote!? My how the tables turn.....

don't know.....but when i was young and stupid i had lots of why questions too. with maturity you will find much more important things to ponder. been there asked that.......someone enlightened me when i was in my late 20's "WHO TOLD YA LIFE WAS FAIR????" once i pondered on that for a while it made life make more sense. But to answer your question: no, it's double standards but it doesn't always work in the woman's favor either.
