My friend and I were talking one day, we where coming up with theories how God communicated with humans. One of the things I said if thought is a form of energy the one person can send thoughts to another. I was wondering if thought if a form of energy NOT that it uses energy.

No, a thought uses energy, but it is not a form of energy. A thought is formed using electrical impulses in your brain. But bringing God into the questions is asking to apply the physical to the metaphysical, which doesn't work.

Thought uses energy, electrical and chemical reactions in the brain. Brain activity can be measured with an electroencephalograph.
